We are super exclited that you have booked your training with us here at Kally Permanent Cosmetics & The PMU School.

Please take a moment and read this information about your training
Your Training Day – Everything You Need to Know

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to The PMU School for your upcoming training.

Below is everything you need to know before your training day, including how to find us, parking, where to stay, lunch arrangements, payments, and what to bring.

Please take a few minutes to read through this information before attending.

Finding The PMU School

The PMU School is situated inside Absolute Skin, in the centre of Hitchin.

Address:
Absolute Skin
27 Bridge Street
Hitchin
Hertfordshire

Please aim to arrive approximately 5 minutes before your training is due to begin.

Most training days begin at approximately 10:00am and finish at around 5:00pm, unless your individual course information states otherwise.

Travelling by Car

Please note that we do not have on-site parking available.

Hitchin town centre has several long-stay and short-stay public car parks within walking distance of the clinic. If you are attending for a full training day, we strongly recommend using one of the long-stay car parks.

We recommend searching online for “Hitchin long stay car parks” before travelling so that you can choose the most convenient option for you.

Please allow yourself enough time to park and walk to the clinic before your training begins.

Travelling by Train

The nearest station is Hitchin Train Station.

We are approximately:

  • 15 minutes' walk from Hitchin Station

  • 3–5 minutes by taxi from the station

Hitchin has very good rail links into London, including direct services from London King's Cross, making it relatively straightforward to reach us if you are travelling from further afield.

Travelling by Air

Hitchin is approximately 20 minutes from London Luton Airport, depending on traffic.

If you are travelling internationally via airports such as Heathrow or Gatwick, you can travel into central London and connect with the direct train service from King's Cross to Hitchin.

Lunch, Drinks & Breaks

Where possible, we like students to have a proper break away from training during the day.

Taking some time away from the training room, getting some fresh air and allowing your brain to reset can make a huge difference to how much information you absorb during an intensive training day.

We are in the centre of Hitchin, surrounded by cafés, shops and places to buy food and drinks. Starbucks, Marks & Spencer, Boots, supermarkets and a wide range of independent cafés and restaurants are all within easy walking distance.

On most training days, we recommend either:

  • Bringing lunch with you, or

  • Popping out during the lunch break to buy something locally.

We have a fridge available if you would like to store food or drinks.

Water and hot drinks will also be available throughout the day, and you are very welcome to bring additional drinks or snacks with you.

Occasionally, particularly on training days involving live models or demonstrations, our timetable may be tighter. If we know that taking a full lunch break will be difficult, we will let you know on the morning of your training and can arrange to collect lunch locally for you.

Where to Stay in Hitchin

If your course runs over several days or you are travelling from further away, there are plenty of places to stay in and around Hitchin.

Airbnb

Our first recommendation is to have a look at Airbnb.

There are often some lovely apartments, rooms and small properties available around Hitchin town centre, many of which are within walking distance of the clinic.

This can be particularly convenient if you are attending a multi-day course.

Premier Inn

For a simple, convenient and usually reasonably priced hotel, we recommend Premier Inn Hitchin Town Centre.

It is approximately a 3-minute walk from the clinic, making it one of the easiest options for students attending training with us.

There are other independent hotels and accommodation options around Hitchin, so please feel free to research and choose somewhere that suits your preferences and budget.

You can also consider accommodation around Luton and Luton Airport, where there are several larger hotels offering facilities including restaurants and gyms. These are generally a short taxi journey from Hitchin.

Training Locations

Most of our one-to-one and two-to-one training courses take place at:

The PMU School at Absolute Skin, 27 Bridge Street, Hitchin.

For some of our larger group training days, including certain prosthetics training courses, we may use a larger venue elsewhere in Hitchin town centre.

These venues are normally only a few minutes' walk from the clinic and are still very easy to reach from Hitchin Station.

If your training is being held at an alternative venue, we will provide the full address and joining information before your course.

Occasionally, we also host training courses in other locations, including London. If this applies to your course, you will receive separate location information.

Paying for Your Training

A 50% deposit is required to secure your training booking.

The remaining 50% balance must be paid no later than 72 hours before your training begins, unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed with us.

We will send you a reminder when your remaining balance is due.

Payment can usually be made by:

  • Bank transfer

  • The payment link provided by us

  • Any additional payment options available through our booking/payment system

If you would prefer to pay your remaining balance in cash on the training day, please contact us in advance so that this can be agreed and noted on your booking.

Access to Pre-Study & Online Training

Some courses include online learning, pre-study or access to our online training portal before your practical training day.

Please note that your course balance must be paid in full before any online or pre-study course content can be released.

If you would like early access to your online learning, please make sure your full course fee has been paid.

Cancellations & Moving Training Dates

Training dates are reserved specifically for you and, wherever possible, we ask that students avoid changing their booked dates once they have been confirmed.

We completely understand that unexpected circumstances can occasionally arise.

Our full cancellation, rescheduling and transfer terms are available on our website. Please take a few minutes to read these carefully before attending your course, as the full terms are more detailed than we can include on this page.

What Should I Bring?

For most courses, you need to bring very little with you.

All consumables and products required during your practical training will be supplied by us.

Beginner Courses & Courses Including a Kit

If you are attending a course where you will receive a larger kit particularly:

  • Prosthetics training

  • Areola training

  • Beginner brow or PMU training

We strongly recommend bringing an empty small pull-along suitcase with you.

Some of our training kits can be surprisingly heavy, and carrying them back to your car, hotel or Hitchin Station can be uncomfortable. A suitcase makes your journey home considerably easier!

Machines & Personal Equipment

For training courses where you already have your own PMU equipment, we recommend bringing your machine with you if you would like to practise using the equipment you are familiar with.

You are also welcome to bring any personal equipment that you prefer to work with, such as:

  • Magnifying glasses

  • Reading glasses

  • Headlamps

  • Loupes

  • Any other personal visual aids or equipment you normally use while working

Please don't worry if you don't have these, they are not essential unless we have specifically told you otherwise.

Products, Pigments & Needles

There is normally no need to use the products supplied in your course kit during your training day.

For example, on our prosthetics courses we will use our own training products during the practical sessions so that the products contained within your kit can remain sealed and unopened for you to take home.

The same applies, where appropriate, to pigments, needles and other consumables.

Everything needed to complete the training exercises will be available for you.

Accessing the Online Training Portal

If your course includes online learning, you can access the student training portal through our website:

www.kally.co.uk

Look for the Online Training / Student Portal section and follow the instructions provided with your course.

Remember that any course requiring pre-study access must be paid in full before online content can be released.

Before You Arrive

Before attending your training, please make sure you have:

  • Checked your course start time

  • Planned your journey and parking

  • Arranged accommodation if required

  • Paid your remaining balance when due

  • Completed any pre-study supplied to you

  • Read our training cancellation and rescheduling terms

  • Brought your machine if appropriate

  • Brought an empty suitcase if you are receiving a larger training kit

Most importantly, come ready to learn, ask questions and enjoy your training day.

We look forward to welcoming you to The PMU School in Hitchin.
